Hope running out for Kemmer Gem and Monarch Area's in St.Charles....

Like this titles states HOPE is running out for this area of Lee County.. That in its self is very sad for several reasons but I will state just a few and they may link to one another.

1. More and more people here like the idea that they can stay at home and go back to school that not only has an impact on their pockets "in the form of savings not having to pay the outrageous gas prices" but also getting more education.

2. Stay in contact with relatives afar. Our family is the one most important thing in all our lives both distant and close to us.

3. Having FTTH at our homes will save us money in the long run on VERIZON home & business phone services. My girl friend saves about $90 dollars a month on her phone just by having VOIP instead of a POTS line to further that the call quality is better than the POTS line. Back in August of this year "2011" the lineman's union went on strike though it ended round the end of that same month no repair work got done in that time frame. My phone service at my home sucked "popping and cracking all the time no one could hear me talking or the service would just stop working all together". Now my service is still the same customer service at Verizon says that their nothing showing up on their tests but they can hear for them selves the popping and cracking in the line.

I hope that SUNSET Digital can get the funding for us. But HOPE is running out for this small town and the good people that are still here..

holding out hope for this FTTH R.A.N.

this past Thursday (05/26/2011) I talked to someone at Clariti Media LLC.. And was shocked at what I was told. The person told me that sense they did not get the grant/loan package for this area that they were having to pay for the expansion out of their own pockets. Well that was not what shocked me what did was I was going to have to wait 6-12 more months for fiber to appear here at my home.. I about fell out of my task chair. Its not that I must wait its that I may be getting fiber in 6-12 months (fingers crossed. I have always known that sense the G/L give back that it was going to be a hard road ahead for SUNSET Digital LLC but I can at least say this they are trying. Now if LENO would show the same class and responsibility that sunset has then all of this stuff would have would have already been done years ago.. Even all of our fire & rescue squads would be the best in the SW Virginia area. Its also not to say that all the counties involved with this FTTH RAN would be a lot more better off. To every one at SUNSET Digital LLC/Clariti Media LLC THANKS for All that you all are doing for this Area.. The only complaint that I have is that it is taking so loag to get the fiber cable ran in the Monarch & Kemmer Gem areas here but I do understand and have always understood why it was/is taking so long.......

UPDATE...

This is just an update on things I'm working on right now and an FYI on some other things going on to. First off is my phone service was interrupted 04/19/2011-04/20/2011 "that's Verizon for you" this also includes my 2nd line for dial-up service as well so if anyone tried to phone me that is the reason I did not pickup. In that time I have found out that Verizon has no more interest in their own land-line business and also their fios "Verizon FTTH" They are going to be investing more in to their cellular business. So just what does this all mean for our network? well for one I think that the roomers that Verizon wants our fiber network can be ruled out. I've also been hearing a lot of gossip about LENO wanting to sell this network. I've also heard that they want to sell it to SUNSET Digital. Now if all of this is true then good on SUNSET and goodbye LENO. But I've still got a few more contacts to call and verify some if not all of this. As always I will post here any information that I get.

Now the first thing that I see here is that LEE & WISE counties are so close to it and that we were not included in that network. Here is an other link from their web site

Well the second link here it looks like they have been doing a good job of expansion and quiet a few parts of and whole counties are with the FTTH network.

OK now everyone that will read this that are fans of SUNSET Digital "I am one of them :)" may say WTF. I am using the previous links above to prove a point here if sunset would have been able to continue the network expansion here "LEE, WISE & city of NORTON" we all would have had services like if not better than that of nTelos. Now I do not know about anybody that reads this but I for one would like to see this network be able to compete with nTelos and others here! Now is the time for ALL of US to act and call our local & state officials and tell them to get off their *sses and do something about LENO's crap..

I really don't see why they do not step in to find out why Lenowisco LLc. has done what they have but non the less most of the homes in this area are still with out access to high speed Internet service. So now that gets me thinking more and more that their is something else going on behind the closed doors of LENOWISCO LLc. like so many I still have dial up Internet and I am using it right now to post this "thats why there is no pictures in this post"..

When this fiber broadband Internet was first put in their was so much word of mouth advertising for it that if the organization mentioned above would have installed it in every home here they would have made quiet a bit of money to re-coop their lose in the first year of operation..
So now comes the BIG question what is LENOs big plan for this network? Are they wanting to sell it off? Do they want to dismantle it? Do they really not care what happens to this region? Those questions can really only be answered by LENOWISCO LLc them selves..

New congressman against high speed computer centers for lee county Va.

Well it seems that our new congressman does not want his people to have access to high speed fiber. Now I do not know about anyone else but I want it I would very much like to have it at my home.. I am hoping that this is not the case and I can retract this later..
